Question 2

Question 2:

TYPED VERSION OF VIDEO:

Through out the production stages of both my main product and my ancillary texts, I have worked hard into linking them together, one way or another.

Looking back at my work, the most obvious way is the name 'Tyldesley Today' and this might seem obvious but its the way that I presented them. I wanted it to be identifiable aswell as relatable in each of my products and it gave it a sense of brand identity.

You can see the name on the newspaper... It demands attention with its bold lines and strong colours, I carried it through to the second page and i hope that I carried it through to the poster. I used strong formats, the slogan, bold lines and the colours.

The radio advert was a little trickier as there was no visual aids for the audience but I wanted them to capture the lively, professional edge to my newspaper and to my brand. I did this by using the words 'TYLDESLEY TODAY' and the re-occurring slogan of 'Local News You Can Believe In..' - I did this slogan on my newspaper and I also used it on my poster.

Although I have managed to create a sense of branding, its when I compare them side by side- like this- that I am conflicted over the success of them as a group.

I class the newspaper as my most successful piece, with the clean lines, straight margins and the overall professional aesthetic to it, but it doesn't seem to match the slightly less professional look of the poster and the sound of the radio advert. It is largely down to the inexperience of using that certain software of Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop, but I don't think that it has completely ruined the outcomes, it has just made it slightly tricky to get the same standard in each medium, and be able to retell the message that I want...

I am pleased with what I have created with my main product and some aspects of my ancillary text and its something to be proud of. I have learnt new skills doing it and I can see where and why I have gone wrong and I now know how to improve upon it in the future.

So I say that as a group, the whole outcomes, the whole ancillary texts is successful...
